Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix is an Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's talent for athletics was apparent from the time she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Ten weeks after the first time she tried out, she was ranked second for 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix has graduated from high school in 2003, signed a sports contract with Adidas. Then she went to an institution called the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. Her first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. In 2005, she became the youngest world champion of 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed in the top three of athletes in her respective events.
