Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was apparent from the time she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came in second place in the 200 meter event at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and was signed by Adidas a contract as an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 secs. Felix became the world's youngest winner in the 200m in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently at the top of the podium throughout her races during the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
